help! i want to do lots of drugs and pretend they're real! i'm assuming i need money first. or at least some sort of avatar (meaning money to purchase a body, leading to the whole money issue...)

i'll figure it out i'm sure, but i did get it. i can't get on through the icon thingie on my desktop, it crashes (or closes, whatever it's called) everytime. is that bad news?

Yes, my compter came close to being thrown out the window too (low tolerance of frustration). There must be a way out of this though.
Your avatar is free so I don't understand why you don't have one.....hmmmm the icon thing that keeps crashing might be the reason. SecondLife is notoriously prone to crashing, but I'd expect you to be able to log on at least once? Is there a special error message (saying you don't have certain drivers/plugins installed), or do you just get the 'SecondLife appears to have crashed, do you want to send a report' box? This problem seems to be worse in the newbie area because there are so many people moving about - overloads the system. It gets better when you're out in the 'real' world. Unfortunately I'm nowhere near as computer literate as you might think, and I've forgotten what went on in the startup procedure. Hopefully Dr. Noodle will be able to use her wiles and come to the rescue?
Never mind, there's a bottle of Absinthe and lashings of virtual coke waiting in Crack Alley to soothe kk's frazzled nerves.

i reloaded the program again and had to take it off by the evening...
it runs way to slow..so i end up double clicking everything jamming everything up and freezing it...
mcafee might be the problem but it catches trojan and worms atleast once a month...
i am stuck some where in arts and culture land dancing like a whore...

anyway to speed the program along without disarming my virus protection?

I use a different antivirus program - I'll babblemail you the address. The hacker tried to attack my computer (address book and photo album all messed up) so I decided to change the software. I'm reluctant to post which one I'm using on the board for that reason...

with a website or simple free blog can get anyones ip address if they go there.
i am worried about clicking links here to "personal" pic and sites.
an ip address contains your full names and real address..
you can just as easily get a untracable ip address, or bounce.

I just sent you another. You should get an alert saying I'm offering you friendship with two buttons - 'accept' or 'decline'. If you click on 'accept' it sets up an IM connection and I can offer to teleport you from wherever you are.
In the bottom left hand corner thee should be a purple button with 'IM' on it. That's the instant message button. If you click on it my screen name should be in there (after you've accepted the friendship offer of course). Double click on my screen name to open up an instant message session. Then you're ready to go!

Maybe you can't see your avatar because your camera is stuck in an odd position? You can manipulate it by holding down the 'alt' key on your keyboard and clicking on the body part you want to view (my favourite feature) with your mouse, then swivel it around. Alternatively, there's an option in the 'View' menu at the top of the screen called 'Camera Controls' - click on it and you should see a set of compass-like controls pop up in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Play around with them and you'll get an idea of what does what.

Hey, we haven't been to crack alley yet! That photo was tame.....
The connection issues get worse in busy areas, so it's best to choose somewhere quiet and secluded for rendezvous.

i spoke with mr kk about this second life place (which i'm still unable to get to work. i think it has to do with this slow *ss computer, or my slow *ss mind. either way...). he's not too thrilled. i'm very easily encouraged to remove my clothing in real life, let alone on line. he began telling me about other programs where people hve lost their jobs, houses, spouses (i wonder if that's a hint?) due to getting sucked into a virtual world, and he knows how i spend hours on babble alone, which he's nto too fond of. what he doesn't realize, is this makes me even more curious!!!!!
gosh, i jsut want to see what everyone's talking about! and i want to be a prostitute (if only for one day. oh, come on, give me a break!) and lots of drugs that have no chance of killing me. is there really anythign wrong with that?
but, for some reason, it's not working. (and i can't say i blame him about trust issues really. in all honesty, i did cheat on my exboyfriend more times than i can count or remember. sure, we weren't married and had no intention of getting there either, which was stated early on in the relationship, but still. geez, why do i feel the need to be so honest anyway? i'm perfect, remember? :)
about this other site: i'm still working on it. but, i don't have much time on the weekends and it takes me a full hour jsut to find the website. plus, teh girls have this fascination with some barbie website, meaning shared computer time. blech! i can only stick them in the corner so much, they are pretty good girls :)

To be honest I hadn't noticed the banner dear, I was too busy wondering if the patch of dampness on bubble butt's briefs was sweat or some other bodily fluid..... is it very hot there?
