I am an 18-year-old college student in NC dilligently seeking information regarding these two programs. I would greatly enjoy beginning conversations with anyone who is currently working in these areas or who would like to help a boy with a dream. Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to give.

Check out info about the "PANDAS" studies at NIMH. PANDAS stands for something like something something neurological disorders associated with strep. I don't remember the exact title, but the key is strep. They have found that a strep virus causes inflammation of the basal ganglia that causes episodic recurrent neuropsychiatric symptoms that are similar to OCD and Tourrettes. I believe the people investigating this line are also looking into other ways the neurological disorders might be related to the immune system. I am sure there are other lines of investigation, too.
