According to statistical reports Wellbutrin is not as effective as Paxil for anxiety (which obviously includes social anxiety). It all depends on your brain chemistry and what the malfunction is. I guess it just turns out that most people with social anxiety have a problem with their serotonergic system.
If your problem stems from a noradrenergic/dopaminergic inefficiency in your brain then it Wellbutrin would logically work better for you.
Conclusion: Experiment with both and find out. Do stimulants tend to have a drastic (positive?) effect on you? Do you have ADD? Then try Wellbutrin.
This is the end of the thread.
