Hi,
I just started taking effexor... after coming off of prozac which was just awful. My doctor prescribed 37mgfor a week.... then 75 for a week, then go from there. I have been horribly depressed. I have had some traumatic health problems.. which may have brought me to this state:ex: don't want to get out of bed, I'm out of work, cry all the time, etc. I had high hopes for this drug... but after reading these posts.... I am terrified. I have only been on it 2 days... and already feel better. Is there anyone who actually likes this drug??? Please respond.... I don't want to make my life even worse by taking it! I was in pretty rough shape and it took about four months to feel pretty normal. Today I've had my best day since being ill (five years) and I'm really content. I'm taking the effexor, but figure because of the length of my symptoms I'll probably be on it for awhile. Discuss your concerns with your doctor.Sunny days ahead ...

Your post went up into the archives.

If you go through a search or the archives you'll find people who are happy with the effexor. Keep in mind people start looking for answers when they are having a problem, not when things are going good. So the ratio of complaints may not be representative of the whole population taking this medication.

Thank you both for responding........ and Mixie, you are right.... most of these posts are from people having problems... so I shouldn't focus on just that. I'm sure there are many people it has helped........thanks for pointing that out.
