I have been tapering off from 112.5 mg/day and am now down to 50mg.
I keep having that'electrical shock' feeling in my head and arms.
Today I have been having black spots in front of my eyes and seeing flashes like lightning. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks in advance

hi!
I am going through this righ now. sometimes the shocks are so strong they freeze my lips as I am speaking, or hand as I am writing, or make me stumble as I am walking. They will go away eventually I HOPE.

i have not had 'electric shocks' going off effexor. i have started having them a couple of weeks ago when I reduced paxil from 20 to 10, and now from 10 to 5 mg. I've been on different SSRI's for a year now, always 20mg (except effexor, of course), and never had bad time of this kind. To me it's a sign to stop taking them altogether (I read about it in Prozac Backlash book). I also figured out the cause of my depression, and am making changes in my lifestyle. It helps enormously.
