Hypnotherapy/Biofeedback

Has anyone had any experience with this? To my amazement there is a place near where I live that does this. I have placed a call and was wondering If anyone has tried it? How much could it possibly cost and will insurance pay anything towards it?
Thanks,
Bonnie

Bonnie, sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. Are you thinking of hypnotherapy or biofeedback for depression? I use hypotherapy in my therapy sessions with a PhD psychologist, but mainly to get me in a really relaxed state when I am talking about past abuse issues. I've never heard of biofeedback for depression, but I know it is sometimes successful for anxiety, and especially for physical manifestations of anxiety, e.g. stomach problems, etc.

I would only go to a licensed professional to use either of these, e.g, md, psychologist, social worker, etc. That way also you have a much better chance of getting it reinbursed, but you still need to check with your insurance company.

I'd try to figure out first whether either of these techniques have been useful for the type of symptoms you have. Good luck, Shelli
