Never thought it would happen to me, sound familiar?
But, alas, it has struck; zero desire, what is the word, anorgasmia? Husband loving, is very relieved that my depression is abating, but knowing that I will be on meds for a "long-time" according to my pdoc (at least several months, if I'am fortunate)has me worried.
I'am already on two meds, Effexor XR 75 mg. daily and Klonopin 1 mg. at night. I've heard Wellbutrin might help. Is this something added to the current mix or is the Effexor discontinued. I can't take a super agitating med which I understand Wellbutrin to be. Ideas, folks? Thanks, AnneL

Either buspirone or mirtazapine are recommended in the Tips for this condition. But I believe these need to be taken for a couple weeks to work--like everything in this field. Methylphenidate is the other option but it is too stimulating.
I found mirtazapine to work so well when I was on Effexor, that I even had _premature_ ejaculation.

Is mirtzapine the same thing as remeron? How much
did you take along with the effexor to remedy the
sexual dysfunction? How long did it take to notice
a difference?

I don't know what dose is necessary to _just_ treat the sexual dysfunction, because I was using it for depression to make that "Effexor/Remeron Power Combination." I took over 45 mg of the Remeron and I'm pretty sure it worked within a week (because I got a girlfriend at that time, and the rest is history....)
{Buproprion, buspirone, and methylphenidate never worked for my sexual dysfunction}.
