I just started on Wellbutrin yesterday and I feel all doped up - can anyone tell me what to expect?
I was on Effexor for 9 months last year and it seems that all I did was sleep or walk around in some sort of haze - I had hoped that Wellbutrin would be different, but now I'm a little sceptical.

You'd be very unusual if "doped up" was normal for Wellbutrin. My guess is that'll go away, fairly quick. Hang in there.

I was on paxil and switched to wellbutrin and found it did nothing for me.
I then went to effexor and felt improved. My doctor put me on effexor AND wellbutrin and at first I was dubious because of my experience with wellbutrin alone. However it turns out that for me the two drugs are better than either alone.
I felt "in a daze" on effexor also. Or rather I've always felt in a daze, it's just that effexor didn't get me out of that symptom. It did a good job on depression and decision making.
Even when we added effexor and wellbutrin together I still felt that "out of touch" feeling. So my doctor added 30mg of Remeron to the list.
That stuff is strong! The side effects hit me pretty hard, but I put up with them gladly because the remeron cleared up the fog. One of the side effects of remeron is "vividness". Vivid dreams is what is usually reported.
My dreams haven't been any different, but my imagination is much more crisp. I can actually "see" pictures in my head as if I was looking at it with my eyes.
The world looks sharper, clearer to me now. I feel more in touch with people.
I'm on 300mg Effexor, 450 Wellbutrin and 30mg Remeron.
Anyway, remeron might be something you want to investigate. No telling however if it's right for you or not. Everyone is different.

Hey, don't give up yet, you've only been on it for a day! You need to give it a trial of 4-6 weeks >at least< to see if it works. It's been a great help to me (along w/a mood stabilizer for bipolar), and totally different from Effexor, which also had me in a daze.
Good luck with it...Wendy
