Why should depressed people not drink even "moderate amonts" of alcohol, such as 2-4 drinks per day? Can it exacerbate the side effects of starting antipressants?

See the section above that starts with 'Another satisified customer'-- there are posts below it that address that issue (especially under 'Thank you all'). In addition to what is addressed there, the effects of some antidepressants are magnified by consuming alcohol--i.e you get much more impact than you are supposed to.

Are you alcoholic? I think alcohol really enhances depression, at least for me and the fact that I am an alcoholic means I usually abuse it and drink until I'm in trouble of some sort. Alcohol is such a strong substance that it certainly could alter the effects of anything else I might be trying to relieve my depression. S
