My doc recently switched me from prozac 20mg to effexor
XR 37.7 to start, escalating to 150 per day.
I waited two weeks before starting effexor.
I also take Concerta 18mg per day and Depakote 1000mg
per day. I moved up very quickly on the effexor. The
sexual side were less with effexor, but still difficult
to orgasm. When I did orgasm it was very painful.
Something about the norepinephrine reuptake inhibition
and the prostate.Any way I did not like this pain. So I
quit the effexor cold turkey and had severe rebound
depression/anxiety. Called the doc, he restarted the
prozac with effexor and had me step down the dose of the
effexor.The depression/anxiety resolved within hours.
But a funny thing happened during the effexor dose
reduction, I got really horney and could orgasm fairly
easily. Has anyone else been on this combination?
