My life is screwed cause of celexa primarily. I was given ativan(lorazepam)0.5 mg 3 x day for 12 days, I tried to stop but had shooting pains in legs and body tremors. I went to doc, he said here take this celexa while you are tapering ativan to boost your mood. Well, thaings happened alright. within 12 days of taking celexa with taper of ativan, I lost my peripheral vision(by the way I had been to eye dr 4 days before pills I had perfect vision).I couldn't breathe for 5 weeks, palpitaions for 5 weeks, memory/deciision making process is shot. I have no interest, no emotions ,I barely talk to anyone. I used to be the most outgoing happiest down to earth person. It has ruined me. I also have muscle spasms 24 hours a day( hands, shoulders, legs)I sleep with jaw clenched, which I never did before. except anger at what has happened. I was also sent to 2 different detoxes by the same dr. , and kept there for 6 days even though there were no drugs in my urine. Except for the phenobarb they gave me to "prevent a seizure". Well we later found out I couldn't have had a seizure. I was CLEAN, no drugs to have a seizure from.I hope that people research their drugs before blindly trusting these stupid freakin drs. with their lives. That is my only hope now.

I feel for you. I'm also a horror story victim. But apparently it's hard to find other people that see it that way.

Anyone else have a horror story due to these types of prescription drugs????I know I'm not alone .I did not even tell my whole story previously cause it's too long to write out. If you have a story tell a little of it, I'm curious to know if anyone's life has been altered permanently

> I'm not sure. I've been taking Ativan for about 2 years now for chronic neck pain and jaw spasms. It helps a little but I still have daily pain. Recently, I've noticed that I shake alot when lifting heavy objects. Never had that problem before. Its extremely noticable when I workout with freeweights. Side effect of prolonged use of ativan maybe. Oh and another very important factor. I'm extremely cautious when taking it in the evening. Lets just say if the wife is in a good mood and I've taken the ativan...lets just say she'll be in a bad mood later if you catch my drift. I'm serious thinking about having the Dr ween me off of it and see how things go. I know taking drugs (especially this one) for long periods of time
is a bad idea. However, when your life is getting completely hosed up cause you're in so much pain...what other option do you have?
Pls don't say physical therapy, trigger point therapy, yoga, meditation, stretching, boxtox, tens units, traction, heat therapy, massage, rest/relaxation, bio-feedback cause I've tried them all. My final diagnosis was a trigger point
in my semi-splenis captis muscle. The darn thing is probably sitting on a nerve thats causing the jaw spasms. We confirm the problem 3 times when we injected it with a steroid. All symptoms went away for 24hrs then came right back. It blows but I'll live.
