Can anyone tell me what the long term effects of nutmeg are? When I was on fluvoxamine, 5 or 6 months ago, I smoked a lot of pot and ate nutmeg, and I haven't been the same since then. I've been quite detached and unfeeling; more than I used to be. I wondered if nutmeg could have made things worse.

I am not aware of any long term effects of nutmeg.
there is not much research on it and you will be hard pressed to find it listed in a pharm.textbook
cant remember the chemical compound. I can tell you that it is classed as a mild halucinogen, so probably similar downsides as pot which is sometimes blanketed here.
on a side note to all, bananas dont contain bananadine.

Nutmeg contains Myristicin, also called Methoxysafrole; 4-Methoxy-6-(2-propenyl)-1,3-benzodioxole. Safrole may be carcinogenic, and is definitely a hepatotoxin in larger amounts. Nutmeg and MAOI's are contraindicated. If you did
a lot of netmeg you might want to test liver function.j
