I've been on Effexor 112.5 for 4 years and have had excellent results (with the exception of lethargy and some decrease in sexual function). To help me regain some energy, my Dr. upped me to 150 so the norephnephrine would kick in. For 3 weeks now I've definately been more jittery, and have had an increase in anxiety & ruminating thoughts (which have virtually been non-existent since being on the med). The good news is though, no tiredness. WIll some of this anxiety go away with time? Thanks--

I've been on Effexor only 75 mg (had to come down from the therapeutic 150 mg dose) for a little over 2 weeks and have had HORRIBLE results - the opposite of lethargy (though I sure would NOT want that) - feeling jittery, jumpy, caffeinated, anxious, racing/ruminating thoughts, and inability to get to sleep at night.
I have heard that the anxiety (or some of it) DOES go away with time, but it varies from individual to individual and with dose I suppose.
I'm going to taper OFF the EffexorXR next visit to the pdoc, since she and I agreed that I need an a-d that is SEDATING to take at night to help with both the depression (no full lift from 75mg EffexorXR) and my sleeping problems.
Good luck!
