Like many of you, I've been experiencing sexual problems (delayed orgasm, lack of desire) that I attribute to ADs. I just found out that I'm hypothyroid and during the endocrinology work-up, they discovered I have extremely low testosterone. Normal lab values for a woman are 3-10, mine was 0.4
I immediately went to the internet to do some research on low testosterone and I found the link below. Basically, some researchers were about to do a study to see if a dietary supplement could help people who had sexual dysfunction in conjunction with AD use. They rounded up volunteers who had this problem and tested their blood for a variety of things, testosterone included. The researchers found that 75% of these patients had abnormally low testosterone. Does this mean that ADs cause low testosterone? Maybe. These findings actually bring up many more questions than answers but it is intriguing. Go to this link to read about the study:
