> Most brands of SAM-e are up to $20 for 20 of the 200 mg tablets. But for depression, the literature recommends that one take 1600 mg per day in the acute phase. That means that one has to consume 8 tablets a day. That's $20 almost every three days! SAM-e is looking like its more expensive than SSRIs. How is someone supposed to take SAM-e daily without spending a fortune?

it certainly is expensive but to help depression is priceless in itself.

I am 18 and my parents said if SAM-e helped me they would keep buying more. At first I thought it helped but then the next time I tried it I felt as if there was no improvement. It's deffinetly worth trying. take care

By taking SAM-E first thing in the morning on a COMPLETELY empty stomach and with B-Vitmains and Vitamin C. I would suggest 400mg to begin with(2 weeks) and then you may get away with 200mg if SAM-E turns out to be an effective AD for you.
