Question:
Has anyone used Aricept (donepezil)?
Research so far shows medication may be better suited for various mood disorders than previous cholinergics.

> Hi there,
I've tried Aricept for my anergic depression, and it immediately put me down even more. So, it decreases energy instead of increasing it. I think, it will be a good medication for the manic state.

Thanks Anna,
That is interesting, the 2 cholinergics I have tried were activating and induced some anxiety for me.
Those were neostigmine (Prostigmin) and bethanechol.
I once took a small amount of neostigmine in attempt to maintain energy prn latenight after taking small amount xtra nardil and wellbutrin (ie; 25 wellbutrin, 7.5 nardil), (it worked) and maybe my closest experience to hypomania.kregpark

Tried any anticholinergics, then?
I haven't noticed any centrally-mediated effects from bethanechol (I take 25-50 mg pretty often). Haven't tried any others. One time I did try taking a cocktail which included choline as a major component (I forget what the other ingredients in this potion were). I had some wicked dreams and hypnopompic hallucinations, but it didn't seem to have much effect on mood/anxiety.
