Has anyone gone from Concerta to Ritalin?

Posted by Jelly on October 23, 2001, at 22:34:14

I have changed insurance companies and my new insurer does not cover Concerta. Because of this, I have had to change to Ritalin. Has anyone else made this change? What can I expect? I was happy with Concerta and am worried about the "crashes" I have heard about with Ritalin.

I take both Ritalin and Concerta. I'm not sure that is what you're looking for but.. They are both ritalin, only the mechanism of delivery is different. Regular old ritalin can be kind of spikey but if you need that boost jusy after lunch or whenever you can manage it to your advantage. I heve definately been aware of feeling sort of reboundy at the end of the day but it isn't a very dramatic crash. The one thing I will say, at least in my case, the generic is not the same as the brand. I think you'll be alright when you get used to it.
