Anyone care to share Klono doses and duration?

Posted by andyboy on March 9, 2002, at 15:31:46

Hi All,
Curious about people's Klonopin dosage, duration, success, etc. Considering upping my dosage-(primary was too low to begin with?) Especially anyone who uses it alone for PD...or any other input. Thanks!
Andy

Hello, i currently take 1mg ok klonopin in the am, which last me about 12 hours. If i feel i need more, in the pm, i take .5mg or if panic situation i take .5mg of xanax! works great!

I take .5 mg in the AM and 1.0 mg at bedtime. It helps me to go to sleep and to have a peaceful sleep. Before I used to awaken in the night with some panic. When I was on Xanax, one pill wouldn't hold me though the night.

According to the charts, the half life of Klonopin is 20 - 60 hours so the efficacy should be at least half that; meaning that taking it twice daily should be more than sufficient. I have been taking it for 2 years and no longer get drowsiness from it in the daytime.

Therapuetic dosages typically run from 3 - 5 mg/day. I have reducem mine to the above over time but I also take 30 mg of Buspar daily.
