Have a slight dilemma here.I'm currently responding very well indeed to sam-e/prozac.
Trouble is, I have to buy both of them, as we can only get generic Prozac here in the UK NHS(I have responded negatively to a generic and recently posted an article citing a NIMH study which concluded some generics produce undesirable side-effects over the original).
I could however, obtain zoloft for free on the NHS (hopefully non-generic!)and wondered if I should give it a shot for the sake of cost.
On the other hand, as I'm responding well to my current med regime, would a switch/trial really be a wise move?I'd hate to switch for a few months, only to have to return to Prozac and risk its not working as before.I'm thinking maybe shell out for the Prozac for as long as I can afford it to get the most out of it. Any thoughts from those who've used both meds??Col.

I can see your dilemma. And I do understand about money problems :-).... :-(, I mean.
From what I hear and read, it is wise to stick with a med that works, though. I am on Prozac too and it works very well for me, and I know what you mean when you say you are afraid that if you stop/switch it might not work as well again, I have that same fear... even though it need not be that way, I have heard it happening before.
Let's see what others are saying...Kat26

Colin,
I used both Prozac and Zoloft (as well as other SSRI's). For me, the the effects of Z were very simillar to the effects of P. You mileage may vary.
