Cytomel (thyroid med) is failing me - Update

Posted by Krazy Kat on March 19, 2002, at 14:42:10

Well, here's my unfortunate update about Cytomel (thyorid med - T3):

Last 2-1/2 to 3 days, I have been really down again. It's as if I never took it. Someone noted this as their experience in my first post about Cytomel - he said you feel "cured" for the first week and then it disappears.

This has been my case.

I still encourage folks to try it, even if your thyroid tests come back "normal", b/c it has been known to help depressives/manic depressives. And it is very safe - Category A.

Needless to say, I am frustrated, sad, depressed - gee, what else? But I will save that for social...

I believe it was me, KK, who you can attribut that quote to about feeling cured for a week, and then losing effect. That's the way it was for me, but the bottom didn't fall out immediately, it kind of wound down into a hyperthyroidism type syndrome.

I'm sorry to hear it didn't bring you relief either.
