Has anyone else noticed an improvement in general mood due to the ingestion of caffiene? I've been drinking a coffee midday and feel like it helps my blahs of depression. Seems too simple to be true- wondering if anyone else has used this for this purpose.

Yes, caffeine does help considerably for many people, but not all. It's a stimulant & in those who aren't anxious, it will brighten mood & alertness for a while. It allows for clearer flow of thought, relieves fatigue, increases motor activity. Trouble is, it's not only a CNS stimulant but affects a lot of other body systems.
It also decreases cerebral blood flow (NOT NECESSARILY A BAD THING) which is why it's so effective in reducing headaches by constricting blood vessels.
A little is good, much more can have mixed effects as different body systems are effected.
This is the end of the thread.
