NARDIL keep ZOLOFT gamble?

Posted by Vinny Grette on April 30, 2002, at 19:10:38

I have been on 45-60mg Nardil for atypikal degression and social phonia quite some time now.

My moog is improved though I have some sedation.

The biggest problem however is unresolved
symtums of lack of focus, concentration, task completiong (ADD test negative though)

Have tried many things in past (tca, ssri, effxr, wellbuttons)

My mangled care psyDr. is unable to and disbelieves in efficacy and safety of adding Provigil or other stims to MAOI.

Since I havent tried Zolog(able to dose high) he suggested that worth a try with mood stabs
as possible augmentos.

My other alternative is consult brite lites big city teaching hospital such as Univ. of Penn. Clinic

Where they may have effective ideas in care of treetmint resistor depression.
And possiblely be able to tweek my Nardil.

As you know much waiting is taken up by washouts and seeing if replacement med will yield benefits.

So any time saving thoughts/experiences greatly appreciated.

I vote for this option! IMHO, treatment resistant people need experienced psydocs. Working with the right docs has made all the difference in the world for me. If you live near central NJ, I highly recommend Julia Temple (609-430-0522). Otherwise, there are some incredible doctors in NYC and Philly.
