I am noticing that at night I get slightly depressed after the Ritalin wears off. I noticed it REALLY bad when I tried Aderall. Has anyone else experienced this and is there something that can be done to avoid it?

Yes, I get rebound depression, and it was by far the worst for me with Ritalin.

Yes, I get a rebound effect when I forget a dose of Ritalin. The only way I know to prevent it is not to forget a dose. :-(

I def. experience rebound depression when my adderall XR wears off.
I become depressed and irritable.
P-doc may want to augment with Wellbutrin.
Anyone have any experience with this?

I tried Adderall... and I would start to get depressed the moment after it "peaked"...then I wanted **more**... I quit that after 2 weeks...
I went to concerta - which is the long acting ritalin - it was Great!... since it lasts 12 hours there was no real downward slope to it..maybe a little up and down during the day.. but by the time it wore off I was ready to go to bed. Not depressed, just tired.

Yes, I also get a significant rebound efefct when coming off pstims. It just creates a further impetus to plan my day around the Adderall/Ritalin/whatever pstim I'm on at the time, so that, for example, when I'm in class I will be at the peak of the Adderall efficacy while my rebound will hit during lunch.
