Still on Remeron only now 60mg started at 45mg. It's not cutting it for my major depression. Has anyone had sucess with combination of REmeron and other AD med besides SSRI? I can't take SSRI's due to extreme GI side-effects, however it's obvious that I have a problem with serotonin levels because my depression and anxieyt does respond to SSRI. I'm about to give up on my pdoc. Any suggestions would be helpful.

You could try mixing Remeron with an SSRI if they really help you a lot. The Remeron should help to prevent the GI side effects.

I hate to recommend Paxil because I have had such a hard withdrawal from it--HOWEVER, there is brand new Paxil CR that is supposed to have alleviated all the GI side affects the previous Paxil had.
And, being in major depression like I am, taking any medications to help may be a lifesaver. Ask the doct about the new CR meds.

It's still paroxetine hydrochloride, only with a special coating. Sort of like a wolf in sheep's clothing.
