My mom has taken 60mg of prozac for aout 5 years now, and all she does is sit around on her couch amd yawn. She's tried to go down to 40 but she says she just cried all the time and had to go back to 60. Is there any hope of her completely coming off of prozac and switching to something of a lesser dose, such as lexapro? what would be the best approach?

60 mg is not too much. Some people take 80 mg of Prozac.
As for switching, it depends on how she is doing. Aside from sitting and yawning, is she doing well right now? Is she able to hold a job and/or do her daily chores? Is she happy?
If she were to switch to Lexapro, she would definitely take a lower dose. But if she is doing ok now, maybe she shouldn't change anything.
I personally have more energy on Lexapro than I did on Prozac, but everyone is different.
