Vivactil Causes Anxiety

Does anybody know if the anxiety side-effect caused by Vivactil goes away with time?

The anxiety hit me the first day I took it.
I was shocked. Now I'm scared.

My doctor would like me to it for take a week, and if doesn't work, he recommended Provigil.

He told me both drugs are "activating", but are not stimulants. Well, what's the difference? I have atypical depression, so I'm extremely sensitive to any anxiety-provoking drugs. I'm confused by his recommendations.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
