I am into my fourth week with Lexapro and I haven't noticed any significant changes with my anxiety. I go for a check-up with my doc tomorrow, should I ask him to up my dose, or should I try something else?? HELP!!!!

At about wk 4-5 my anxiety got real bad along w/increased depression. DR raised me from 5mg to 10mg at that time. Did not feel like Lex was working until wk 9, by then I knew it was working. I started to feel *better* at wk 6, I just didn't realize it.
Talk to DR, and hang in there!~~~8|8

I'm taking 20mg lexapro for OCD because I heard that for OCD you need a higher dose for several months. I don't know about regular anxiety.

heres me- im anxiety person not depressed at one time i was on 10 mgs lex-and 2mgs 3xs a day(=6mgs) of diazapam togehter it worked pretty good on anxiety not great i must say ,ive got to be honest i think the lex kept me anxious if you can understand that but at the same time keep attempting on lex it takes a while month or two to get full theraputic affect good luck

iv been on lexapro 20mg about 3 months now, i have deppresion, slight GAD and panic attacks every now and then. the GAD now is fixed and the panic attcks are very rare. my deppresion is in remission also :) my anxiety symptoms started to get better within 3 weeks my guess is that after 6 weeks if you don't notice improvement its time to consider other medications.
