sorry to be so old-styled but here in italy lexapro has not yet arrived
this my 5th week on celexa (more or less) and I'm on 40mg
my main problem at the moment is tiredness and I woke up always very late in the morning (or very early in the afternoon)
I've read a lot of posts about it and I was wondering if there is someone who had managed to solve this problemanyway, for the rest my mood is quite good I have no anxiety (maybe too less anxiety !), some lack ot motivation, some sensation of strangeness when I'm with people (something I had experienced also with anafranil)... no particular problems with sexual side effects
I don't know if going on with it or trying something else
thank you in advance !

Try taking just 20mg. In clinical studies 40mg farred only slightly better than 20, but had doubble the side effects.
If you're sleeping fine, then you might want to take it at night to avoid drowsyness.

Francesco- My doctor just told me that Celexa has a bit of an antihistamine in it so it can tend to make you tired. You may want to try taking it at night if you find yourself tired during the day. Best, Beverly

Night is best for Celexa. I take Wellbutrin in the morning, and wake up.

Hi Francesco,You say that you're mood and anxiety levels are fine. Could you talk to your doc about reducing the dose to, say, 30mg? 40mg may be too high a dose depending on your metabolism, body size etc.
I take 20mg a day and suffered from the grogginess and tiredness for the first week or so. That situation gradually improved over a period of 6 weeks. (I also experienced some foot-tapping, which disappeared after about 2 months.)
Everybody responds to drugs differently, so you may need to hang in there a little longer until you figure out what is best for your body. Taking your dose at night will also help, as suggested by the other posters.
I find Celexa to be very gentle and effective. Hopefully it will help you too.
All the best,
Alara

Hi,
From my experience I would say Celexa is one of the milder AD's.
I had to go see a specialist when I was 7 months pregnant because my anxiety was so bad. She put me on Celexa! I took 10 mg then went to 15 mg and there is where I stayed. Wanted to take the least amount of med being I was pregnant. Everything turned out fine.
Hang in there. I would give it some more time!
Good luck.Capri
