Thanks,

Although the advertising and recenty tv news shows have suggested there is no anxiety involved with provigil, I disagree. It made me sweaty and nervous. Plus it does not help with motivation. I'd just be nervous and sleepy/lethargic. I have far fewer side effects from Concerta (12 hour release form of ritalin.) So I take that.

I like Provigil, and I'm an anxious type. I tried it for a while and found that it made me feel more motivated and enthusiastic without causing anxiety (now I take Adderall instead because Provigil didn't help enough for ADD). I should add, though, that I was taking Klonopin along with it. I doubt it would bother me without the Klonopin, but can't say for sure.
The Provigil pills are easy to break, so you could try a small dose at first. You should be able to get a free sample from your doctor to test out.
Wellbutrin, on the other hand, made me extremely edgy and nervous, even at low doses. I've tried it with Klonopin and had a similar response, just not as intense.
BTW, more than a cup or so of coffee also makes me very tense. So, my response to different stimulants varies greatly, as does that of many other people.

Provigil DID make me a bit anxious. I have OCD.
If those SSRIs are too sedating for you, why not try zoloft? For me it was TOO stimulating!
