I think I should try Nardil again, but wonder what to suggest to my pdoc. I'm 38. After trying everything else, six years ago tried Nardil and for 9 months experienced the tremendous boost and sense of well-being so many posters here have written of. But then it stopped. It really did. I tried Parnate, which worked only briefly. Since then, I've been back on both twice with no effect. Never been off MAOIs for more than three months. Now, I've been on Remeron (no effect) for more than a year. How should I reapproach the Nardil? What dosage? What adjuncts? What about Marplan?

Be honest, tell him you really want to try it.

How soon did it stop?

For more than a year with no effect? Forget that. There's heaps of drugs out there. Don't waste time with flops.

Try 60mg Nardil for 4 weeks. No response ram it up to 90mg for another 4 weeks. Worry about adjuncts then. You could try Marplan, sorry I know little about this.
Good luck to you!
Ace.

thanks for the comment Ace. the posts by you and others regarding MAOIs have provided me tremendous encouragement.
I don't understand how such a life-changing pill can just stop working. My current doc, who was not my doc during the Great Nardil Success, almost doesn't believe it every worked. I know it did.
I will pursue with doc this week, and let you know.
This is the end of the thread.
