As a BPII, Rapid Cycler, I have found that Zyprexa is excellent at preventing mania whereas Seroquel does not.

Hi
I took Zyprexa for 1 year and Seroquel for 2 years . For a little episode of psychosis
They both were helpfull
But I think Seroquel was better , no weigth gain and my anxiety was less
Good luck

Thanks conflicting opinions between Lazarus and yourself on the Zyprexa vs. Seroquel thing, but at the same time the research seems pretty good at the weight gain being more in adolescents on zyprexa than seroquel.

Something funny, I always want to go to Eli Lilly and say hey fix it its a good drug., but they are probably more concerned on getting symbiax out eventually (zypro? ) out so they can sell it for more big bucks.but i never read anything like that on the website that is encouraging. :(

but hey on the seroquel makers website i wanted to paste this quote :) it was so encouraging !

"Seroquel is under development for the treatment of bipolar mania and other psychoses, and new formulations are also being developed. "

good at least they tell u new formulations are being developed, at least we think they might be tweaking stuff to make it better :) that is good!

P.S how much did you gain on zyprexa? did you lose it all? is seroquel really weight neutral for u?
