lexapro and heartburn

Posted by trudy on November 4, 2003, at 6:34:32

I'm wondering if anyone who has the heartburn/lump in throat side effect from lexapro ever found that it cleared up, and if so, how long it took? Thanks,
Trudy

I had it for about two weeks. OTC acid reducers helped get me through it.

I haven't tried Lexapro, but I have had those problems with Prozac and Strattera. In each case, the major cause seemed to be drinking coffee too close to the time I took the med. Also (and again, I'm not sure about Lexapro), taking those meds on an empty stomach was sometimes problematic re: heartburn.

The thing that helped me - for the short time that i was on Lexapro, was Papaya & Pineapple Enzymes (TraderDarwin's)

BUT i also tried TUM's, too... On an empty stomach, or 'immediate gratification junk' Tum's is good for acid heartburn... but my true best relief & longer lasting came from the Enzymes.

If you can't get TraderDarwin's, here's the formula :
Bromelain 45mg
Papain 30mg
Mycozyme 30mg

TD's P&PE are inexpensive and chewable.
And i am NOT a cheerleader for ANYTHING.
Usually.
