pregnancy and lexapro

Posted by clight on February 15, 2004, at 12:38:30

I have been on a 10 mg dose of lexapro for 4 months and it has helped me immensely!! My husband and I are considering getting pregnant and I am very nervous about going off of the lex. Anyone have any experience being pregnant on lex?? I am confused and nervous.

Thanks.

My answer would be nearly no drug is safe with pregnancy. If you can go off the drugs & suffer for 12 months without being suicidal then that is probably the best thing to do.

What ailment do you suffer from that makes you take Lexapro?

As always you should seek the advice of your doctor. :)

Cheers,
Panda.

I had the same concern on Zoloft. My pdoctor told me that the anxiety without meds would be much worse for the fetus than the meds. I would definitely discuss it with your gynocologist and your pdoc before getting pregnant though. They should both be able to guide you. You may get mixed reactions from them though. J
