I have been taking effexor for a few months now and had not drank any alcohol till last weekend. I felt drunk after 2 drinks and completly blacked out. Anyone who takes this med please be warned it seems to affect the way your body handles alcohol.

Yup, I had the same reaction to it. A nasty surprise, isn't it?
Take care,

I was on Effexor some time ago and could not tolerate more than 1 glass of wine. Even after that, I was still hungover in the morning. Yes, anyone taking this drug needs to be very careful!
Hopefully you were at home or with a friend when you blacked out. That doesn't sound like fun.

>I had one & half beers at Christmas & felt very average for the next 24 hours. Effexor + Alcohol is not a good combo for me either. :)
