I am currently taking 50 mgs. of Parnate daily and between .50 and 1.0 mgs of Klonopin daily. I was wondering if people get anxiety relief from the Gabatril. I want to drop a benzo in favor of something one wouldn't build tolerance to.
Also any suggestions on help for my depression. I have been on every class of drug and various combinations with no relief. I was getting some relief from Parnate ( been on it since August ) and now it does not seem to be working anymore.
I have not tried Cymbalta and I will not do ECT. My depression runs from mild to moderate but seems like an episode lasts for years. I probably have dysthymia but have not been dx as such. Any and all help is appreciated

Gabitril did absolutly nothing for me. But then again, I think my anxiety was medication induced (caused by Abilify). Seroquel is an anti-psychotic but has nice anti-anxiety properties.
The first anti-depressant that worked for me was Remeron (previously tried Celexa, Zoloft). But be ware weight gain. I'm now on Wellbutin.
Good luck,

I found gabitril useless for anxiety, and possibly made my depression worse.
Have you already experiemented with Neurontin? I had some success with that and am waiting for the new Lyrica. I too take .5mg of clonazepam daily and would love to get off of it!

Its funny but Neurontin did nothing for me and my doctor wants me to stay on Klonopin on a regular basis which does give me some relief.
