Any good things to say about Lexapro?

Posted by jerrympls on January 3, 2005, at 21:16:06

I'm switching from Cymbalta 60mg to Lexapro tomorrow. The reason? I'm quite certain the Cymbalta has increased my apathy/anhedonia. Plus, my doc and I want to augment a true SSRI with Metyrapone to see if it really helps - as recent research studies indicate.

I need to hear some good things about Lexapro! I'm also taking:

Dexedrine 15mg spansules 3x daily
Seroquel 150mg for insomnia (going to go off of it when Lunesta is available)

Anyone have any success with Lexapro?

Jerry

Hi Jerry, I have to say my DH did not have a good experience with Lexapro, but I'm not certain it was the Lexapro or withdrawal from Paxil or a combination. But everyone is different. My best friend is on Lexapro and is very happy with it. She says that she has no side effects and feels wonderful. She is taking it for depression, so that might make a difference. DH was taking it for panic disorder/GAD.

Good luck - I hope it works for you!

I love Lexapro. I've tried Zoloft, Wellbutrin and Effexor, but so far Lexapro is the best. Depression and anxiety are GONE, and no sexual side effects. Feel better than I have in years. Did gain a little weight, but I can live with that. Good luck!
