Hi Link!
Which TCAs have you taken in the past? How did you respond?

I experienced better sleep and some improvement in depression on Doxepin augmentation of citalpram.

> LinkadgeYou can get an EEG done. I had one done a few years back, but I wasn't experiencing any of the weird effects at the time it was taken. They found a "flat spot" in my left frontal lobe and an exaggerated "assymetry" between left and right frontal lobes (from what I remember). They wanted to do a 24-hr ambulatory EEG (sleep deprived and without meds). Wished I would have done it now.... As far as "temporal lobe issues" goes.. it has to do with symptoms that you experience that are similar to experiences that people with temporal lobe epilepsy have. The scale distortions are there.. I also get extreme distortions of smell at times. SSRI's will trigger them the worst.. sometimes to the point of smelling things that are not there (like a dead mouse, gas leaking, something burning). Also, an MRI will detect any *structural* abnormalities. Unless you get all three done (EEG, 24-hr. ambulatory EEG, MRI) you can't entirely rule it out.
