My doc just prescribed me 500mg Depakote ER. Is this considered a safe, low starting dose?

Considering I was started at 1500mg, I would say so.

>I was put on Depakote during a stay at the hospital, where I could be monitored on a daily basis. I'm assuming you've got some time before you see your pdoc again, so starting at 500mg sounds like a good idea...the side-effects were pretty bad the first couple of days at 1500mg.
