Hi there,
I'm coming off Parnate, and my doctor really doesn't know anymore about it than I do. I'm trying to find out how long I need to be off before I can return to eating normally, and I've come across a lot of conflicting information - anywhere from 2-6 weeks. I'm wondering whether anyone has personal experience, or, preferably, some direction from a doctor who actually knows something about the drug?

In cases like this, I think the best to do would be ask your pharmacist. I think two weeks sounds right. And just be careful and see how you react. Parnate leaves the system very quickly.

Hi Audrey.Two weeks is plenty. MAO activity usually recovers fully within 10 days of the last dose.
