I found that ritalin seems to work better with lithium. Seems to work well for my mood as well as my attention.
How much lithium did you take with them ?

I liked the regular Ritalin better than long acting Concerta which made me depressed and fuzzy. Recently I've been trying 5mg Adderal twice a day and it works better for focus and gives me a definite zip I didn't notice with Ritalin.
Interesting that it doesn't seem to spin us bipolars into mania, isn't it? Wonder why.

Actually some doctors have found that stimulants can bring a patient out of a manic episode.

Some studies have shown surprising, Dextroamphetamine has shown to relieve manic episodes in a rapid timeframe.
I take Ritalin but have never taken Lithium Carbonate. I have read of a widely published study where a group of European PsyDocs showed that Magnesium aspartate, was as effecrtiv as Li Carbonate in treatment of BP disorder group, apparently working in somewhat similar ways, Calcium channel influx etc. I take Mag Asp daily and feel comfortable in doing so.
Cheers
