Hello all,
My period is rather late and I'm not pregnant - its late by two to three weeks and in fact I've not had one since I have started taking reboxetine/edronax (an SNRI) about five weeks ago.
I am rather worried! Where has it gone? I'm not taking any birth control meds and I am pretty sure its the reboxetine. Has anyone else had this experience - and will it come back? I only have one ovary so I am rather protective of it!
If its any help, I think it might have distrubed my hormones because I have developed acne since starting this new med.

I can't say anything about reboxetine, but I did have major changes to my cycle while on Strattera -- my typical 22 day cycle went to 28 days, and my periods went from about a day and a half to seven days. I was told that the NE effects were the cause of the changes. They went away when I stopped the drug.
Hope that's a little helpful to you. Good luck figuring it out.

I have had this problem with other meds, not the one that you are taking. I would skip complete cycles, or spot, etc. Hormones are very delicate and they seem to respond to anything "different", even just bouts of stress. Your hormones might even out after being on it for awhile, but certainly tell your doctor about this side effect.

How old are you? Could your periods be getting irregular for another reason?
I looked in PubMed for a connection between mentrual cycles and antidepressants and found a lot on antidepressant use in women whose cycles were related to depression, but not on changes in cycles.
I.

I'm 25...abit too early for the menopause!

Hmm interesting. My cycles are losely regular, coming at 30 - 35 days. Some women's cycles seem to be effected by other meds involved with noradrenaline.
I guess I'll just talk to my GP - not that he knows anyway!
Thanks!
