It is such a promising medication as it seems to work in an opposite way as SSRI's... and yet WORK for many ppl.
someone said...
"Some quick research shows me it's a moderate NE uptake blocker and NE potentiator, a weak 5-HT uptake blocker but potentiates 5-HT functions. Then it's also a weak inhibitor of both MAO-A and MAO-B. "so whatever that means.
Anyway I have tried 15 american medications. Or mostly american. Most havent worked for me and even made my atypical severe vitamintosis induced depression worse.
So I am looking for some alternatives. Vivarint was an amazing european med that did wonders for me in the short term which I had it. But in case I cannot get anymore as its not easily available then I will need something to go along with my paxil.
Paxil keeps me alive. Keeps me livable. I would feel like dying without it.
So can anyone share any information on Taineptine and if it interacts with Paxil or SSRI's in general.
Seems like it might but I dont know anything about this kind of stuff.

In reply to Taineptine. Safe to take with SSRI?, posted by adamCanada on August 25, 2005, at 1:57:41
Don't know if there'd be an interaction, but pharmachologically they might cancel eachother out :)
Depending on the degree of MAO-A inhibition, there might be an interaction with an SSRI
