In a desperate move to stop medicating myself with wine and then falling asleep - I tried adding a small dose (150mg)of Trileptal to my 100SR of Wellbutrin.
The Trileptal really made me feel calm, almost sleepy. I haven't taken it in a long time. I had trouble dealing with the fact that it messed with my hormones before. But, like I said, I am desperate.
I like the "up" feeling that Wellbutrin gives me - I need it or I would never get out of bed. But, it also makes me irriatable.
Has anyone had success on a Wellbutrin (200mg.) and Trilepil (300mg to 450mg) a day combo?
I seem to be able to get by on baby doses. If I took the "theraputic" doses of meds I would be in a padded cell or in a coma.
I also, of course, hope this combo will help with my need to lose weight!

So it's true trileptal will help with sleep? I was prescribed but quit because I thought it was only for mood swings. Fondly, Phillipa

Ahhh I think I know this one. It's tegretol with an extra oxygen ion a cleaner drug than tegretol. Meaning less side effects. But it is primarily a mood stabalizer. Was given it by one doc to help with sleep another to help with moods. Maybe I should have kept taking it. Fondly, Phillipa

Yes -- oxcarbazepine as opposed to carbamezapine. Its something my doctor may be toying with. Its generally preferred to carbamezapine.
