I think I made a stupid mistake today taking Effexor. I don't think I want to travel down that awful road again.
Are there any meds that are good for anxiety like Effexor?
I guess at the small doses I'm only hitting my serotonin, but aren't SSRIs the only other meds that will do that for me?

Hi Phillipa, Lexapro, at the begining, also gave me severe anxiety! Not only that, but the side effects during the first weeks were hell. It took about 8 to 9 weeks for the full effect to kick in.
I have been on Lex 10mg for 18 months and was doing very good until a recent family tragedy and business problems. Now I am having anxiety and battling the gost of depression.
Good luck.
