I have kinda read some of the threads on effexor. Because of an extreme bout of depression I started taking effexor and buspar. The effexor has really helped a lot. My friend and my sister take effexor also.
Should I be afraid of effexor?
The only problem is, if my friends on babble convince me that I should not take effexor, I do not know what I will do because, the anxiety gets bad. Benzos do not help.
Peace,
Lynn

If Effexor is working, well -- "if it ain't broke" and all that, right?
Seriously, though. Effexor is a good drug, if it works for you, and there's no reason to worry about the What Ifs. Yes, there are some possible side effects that could be a problem for you -- mostly, the increased blood pressure, but even there you can take a beta blocker or other hypertension drug to bring that back down. Otherwise, there's no reason to worry about continuing it. Your doctor will let you know if your blood pressure goes up, and it doesn't happen for everyone, and won't necessarily be a problem even if it does go up.
Truly -- if there's no reason to stop it, and it's working, then plan to keep taking it as long as those two statements continue to be true.
Hope that helps.

You helped comfirm what I was already thinking. I was just kinda afraid I had missed something really bad.
My blood pressure is perfect. It used to be on the low side. So maybe it fixed my low blood pressure too. lol
