I've experienced seeing things out of the corner of my eye, and then I turn to look and it's gone. I can't say what the images actually are....seems like mostly just blobs. It doesn't usually take the form of an object. I think once I thought I saw a big spider, but most of the time it's not a specific object.
To a lesser extent, I think I've heard quick sounds. Also, I'll feel my cell phone going off vibrate in my pocket, but then I'll touch it and realize that I'm not actually receiving a call.
Are these "psychotic features"?

Maybe a temporal lobe thing going on? The seeing things/hearing things just made me think of something I'd read in one of Daniel Amen's books. There's a lot of info. on this site, as well as a forum.Maybe check it out www.amenclinic.com :
From the amen site, just a bit of info that talks about the visual/auditory illusions.....
"4....symptoms of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity and mood instability, aggression, mild paranoia, anxiety with little provocation, atypical headaches or abdominal pain, visual or auditory illusions, and learning problems (especially reading and auditory processing). Brain SPECT imaging typically shows decreased or increased activity in the temporal lobes with decreased prefrontal cortex activity. Aggression tends to be more common with left temporal lobe abnormalities. This subtype typically responds best to anticonvulsant medications (such as gabapentin, divalproate, or carbamazepine and a psychostimulant."

> Are these "psychotic features"?I'd like to know more too because this happens to me daily, both the blobs which are usually black and vanish as soon as you look in their general direction and the phone thing is driving me nuts!!!!! I'm constantly pulling it out to answer it and it not ringing and the are no messages waiting either, what the hell is up with that. Alot of the time I can hear my ringtone going off too while it's sitting on the table and it's not ringing. I have to laugh though because we have very big spiders here (Australia) and when I see something out of the coner of my eye it's always the first thing I think of. Paul.

I experienced the corner-of-the-eye thing for a while, while I was on Effexor.
But I think it had more to do with the fact that I wasn't used to having longish hair, so the wavy protrusions into my peripheral vision threw me off. I experience the cell phone sometimes, too...
I don't know. Maybe you are suffering from some form of psychosis or TLE; I don't mean to minimize your concern. But when I experience that sort of thing I rationalize it this way: we're always struggling with our environment to maintain homeostasis, and it seems entirely possible that minor sensory artifacts could result from this.
This is the end of the thread.
