This interaction that leads to dyspnea
is a question i asked with many possibilities --
thyroid clash with lithium, benzo respiratory
depression, anxiety, CPC20 respiratory problem,
pulmonary -- no answers? Somebody must have
a clue?Well, I think i will leave as I read on Dr.
Bob's guidelines that when there are no
answers your questions may just be too difficult
or possibly too annoying. So, I'll come back when I recover.
Bye

It was under "why isn't anyone answering
my questions" but i can't find the major
heading. I am slowly getting used to
the drug comboSynthroid 0.112
Lithium 300
Klonopin 1.50K and L taken close together (as recommended
once by my dr. on similar complaint. The K feels like it is constricting breathing,
chest tightness, and dyspnea - can't get
enough air in as if lungs are closed.
There is a curve to how awful this feels -
about 1 1/2 hour with both L and K with a
peak of feeling worse in the middle. When I used to take Xanax also, it was much
worse even with less K at that time (1.0) -
i used to have to arch my back and stretch
on all fours to get a breath in.Could be the benzo/lithium interaction with
hypothyroidism.Sorry to appear testy; the lack of treatment
and examinations has probably put me in less
than a cheerful mood as it does feel like
an impending heart attack. And it has taken
many months of my life. But, it is my fault,
because it happens when I fear the lithium
is going toxic, and lower it. Then when I
reinstate -- this happens every time.Thank you for your kind reply.

did a lot searching in med. books -
i think i know what it is - metabolic acidosis;
this would be consistent with the magnesium
test my dr. did years ago. Bicarbonate sodium
may be the treatment for it. Getting better.
Thanks for your patience.
