Hi
I lurk this board from time to time, but never posted on dr bob's site before.Diagnosed as ADD without the H. (as well as being disthymic and a bit of social phobe)
Desipramine works WONDERS for me for the ADD - it's like I have come out of a fog. I can get things done, do work (with is technical in nature and requires a lot of attention to detail), make plans.
anyway - the bad part - I get very anxious, especially around people when I'm on desipramine. I get angry a lot and very snappish and irritable. I feel at some level very depressed - and I seem to always have a scowl on my face - its even hard to force a smile.
Is there anything I can take along with the desipramine that will mitigate this, without affecting the beneficial action?
also - I have never been above 25-50mg. Does anxiety go away at a higher dose?
(and straterra didn't really work for me)I should also mention my pdoc has tried just about everything on me - effexor, adderall/ritalin, wellbutrin, lamictal, strattera, a new AD that works on sero. and norep. (can't remember the name), probably others. None work as well as the desipramine.
Thanks for your help :)

Hi
So it's working really well but with side effects?
I think you should try a lower dose. You could get a prescription for the 10mg tablets and go from there.

Ed

what dose are you on? I take 150 and it makes me a little anxious, and gives me dry mouth which is a pain in the *ss. Also makes me a little tired so I take it at night.
This is the end of the thread.
