I was wondering if anyone experienced these side-effects from Topamax and if so did they go away? I'm only taking 25 mg and I have already lost 4 lbs in a week and my mood is very stable. I'm going to be so disappointed if I have to stop taking it. Any help would be appreciated. Benadryl?

Do you have allergies as there are a lot of flowers, grasses, and trees blooming now. Love Phillipa

Hi Jan thanks for responding as you always do. As a matter of fact I live in Costa Rica and we have started the rainy season and everything is becoming lush and blooming now. The flowers are actually quite amazing but may be the issue you are right. As a matter of fact, the first time I got a runny nose and a bit of itching was the day BEFORE I started Topamax. It has been getting a bit worse though and these symptoms are known side-effects of Topa. So I don't know. I took a Benadryl and feel complete relief. My PDOC doesn't want me to go more than a couple of days with the Benadryl so we don't mask the side-effects. I see her Thursday. I really hope these symptoms will be all gone. I don't want another med to fail yet again!

Bet it's the flowers and allergies could you live with a runny nose if the drug is working? Or maybe your doc prescribe something that goes with your med to take for the symptoms? Well hope the appointment goes well and your nose stops running. Love Phillipa
