Hey all. how are ya's? I have become quite fat on my medication combo and I dont know what to do. I try to eat low fat low calorie low everything lol but it doesnt work :( I dont even eat lunch and I think Im gaining even more weight. Im over 90kg!!!!! :( My Pdoc wont let me take any weight loss drugs and he gave me good reasons for why not with each drug he suggested. Anyone have any good weight loss sugestions?
Also.. Im impotent and Cilias/Viagra dont really work too well for me, has anyone here tried the injections I forget the name of the drug. Any help would be appreciated *hugs to all* and special hugs to keleidoscope and phillipa :):)

This is where IMHO you need to consider going back to the drawing board after you have pondered your pros and cons
1) I have heard the Cialis and Viagra can help with maintaining an erection, but not with lack of libido, nor with anorgasma. Not a doctor, but its what I've heard. If anyone else can bring something to the table, please post!
2) Have your meds stabilized you? If you change them, will it mean catastrophe, or rather some discomfort as you look to other options? For some, the weight gain is a tolerable side effect as to change meds would result in some pretty hefty consequences. For others, it is not an accetpable side effect and they are willing to deal with discomfort as they try other medications, plain and simple.
3) Does your psychiatrist listen to you when you question his/her methods of treating you, and also address your concerns, or do they blow you off and act as through you are ignorant or neurotic?
If they blow off your concerns, I'd consider terminating the relationship. Remember, we pay them to treat us as individuals with individual needs and unique biochemical make ups, of which they need to address to the best of their ability.

The injected drug is Caverject and it's the only one I've found to work reliably for impotence, although it doesn't help with loss of libido. I found apomorphine helped with that somewhat, but I don't know whether it can be taken with the AD you're on

I haven't had impotence but I did have a pituitary problem that caused my testosterone count to drop and reduced my sex drive. My internist said "Your number is right on the borderline, which at your age is a concern. This may not be a problem. I'd suggest you try an injection of 400mg of testosterone. Either you'll notice nothing or you will feel much better. I said "try it". 90 minutes later I was bouncing down the street on the balls of my feet and feeling like an oversexed teenager.
It may be worth getting bloodwork done and looking at your testosterone levels.
The best way to lose weight is exercise. I think its important to find exercise that is fun for you. It took me years to find tthe sports that worked for me.
One medication that has positive sexual effects and also reduces appetite for some people is Wellbutrin. It also helps with depression, ADHD, and with stopping smoking. Sounds like a wonder drug in theory!
